If you have been following this blog at all you may have read about our weekend ride across the border and into Canada where we met some fellow Harley Davidson riders. While it is not unusual to make new friends while out riding, the fact that one of the people we met just happened to buy his used Harley Davidson from Approval Powersports and everything that ensued was a rather unusual occurrence.

So here's one to top it all.

Our group of friends and Harley Davidson riders got together for a short sprint around town. Nothing big. No particular destination in mind. Just a little riding time toether.

Anyway, I'll get on with this story. We decided to stop for a bite to eat at one of our favorite places. When we arrived there were several Harleys parked in the lot. Nothing unusual here as this is a place where motorcycle riders are always readily accepted. As we were walking in and passing by the other parked Harley Davidsons I caught a glance of six bikes that had Canadian plates on them. I said to myself, "It couldn't be." This would just be plain weird if it was the group we had met a couple of weekends ago when we decided to make a trip to Canada for the day. I didn't say anything to anyone else about what I had just noticed and we all continued to walk in and get a seat. As we walked past a table I suddenly heard someone say "hello our American friends." I looked over, and yes, it was Pete and his group along with a couple of others that we had met in Canada. To say we were all shocked by this meeting was an understatement. But we said hello and that we were glad to see them here in the states. They asked if we would join them. We were able to slide a couple of more tables together and we all sat down. They said they had just arrived a little bit before us and that they hadn't even ordered their food yet.

Once we were seated I asked Pete what had made them come over the border and what had made them stop here. He told me that he had made a call to Jon at Approval Powersports and had also asked if he knew where our group might ride in town and where we might stop for food. Jon told him about our little bar and grill and that we could often be found here to hang out, have some food and play some pool. He also said that he wanted to show his friend Billy where Approval Powersports was located because he was interesed in buying a Sportster, but not for another few weeks. Even so, he felt that Billy needed to know all about Approval Powersports and their huge selection of around 300 or so of used Harley Davidsons for sale.

It was time for us to order our food and we did. It came to  the table and we enjoyed our meal except for a couple of guys that ordered french fries and wondered out loud where the vinegar was. We all laughed about that one. But,our waitress is very good and she accommodated their request. After we ate it was time to shoot some pool. As they had promised after our last meeting, they were victorious today.

After a couple of hours it was time for everyone to leave. When we got to the parking lot Joe pointed out his bike and said that he too was ready to buy a different bike. He said that what he really wanted was a Fat Boy. Of course at that point I had to interject that their was only one place for him to shop and that place was Approval Powersports. Pete loudly agreed and said that if Joe didn't go their to shop for his Fat Boy,he was a fool. I gave him one of Jon's business cards and pointed out the website address and told him that our entire inventory of used Harley Davidson was posted their and that it was a great way for him to find his Fat Boy or maybe another Harley Davidson. I also told him that he could apply for financing online using our website. He thanked me and he also thanked Pete since Pete was so adamant about where he should shop for a used Harley Davidson.

It was another great meeting and another great day for some riding especially since they wanted us to ride with them and show them some of our favorite places to ride. At the end, before they headed back across the border, we exchanged email addresses and phone numbers so that we could meet up again. I also told both Joe and Billy that when they decided to come to Approval Powersports for their Harley Davidsons that they needed to make sure that I knew they were there and that I would help them as much as I could. They both said they would and also thanked me in advance for any assistance I could offer.
